Saba Anglana - Jidka

I was impressed to hear Saba's interview on WBUR. Interesting to hear the new age version of the oldest Somali lullaby "Hoyo".
About the Interview, You could feel her nostalgic feelings towards Somalia even though she could
barely remember it. Lucky for her, she did not have see or experience the Dark Ages of Xamar. That is the only thing that comes to my mind when i try to get "High" of Xamar's nostalgic memories.

I really liked the why she related the lullaby "Hoyo" and how somali diaspora are feeling today.

This is Saba speaking.

“It's a sort of homesickness that Somali people have because of the Diaspora. It's just like they are orphans, they don't have their mother. And in a certain way, in a metaphoric way -- their mother is Somalia.”

Just makes you wonder what would Somalia be like if there was no Civil War.

So what is this fascination between these New Age Somali/Western Musicians (e.g. Saba and Kaynaan) and childhood Somali Lullabies?
Last i went to see a Kaynaan Concert at Fenway-Boston, he had a similar song if not the same lullaby. I think some one should Copy Right all the somali lullabies.
